This is a photo of our partially shaded pond garden, taken Spring 2006. Thyme grows through the crevices in the rocks, while louisiana irises are comfortably seated at waters edge. The large persian corn flower clump on the left draws us near for a close look at it's feathery pinkish purple flowers. We wanted this feature to attract more birds to the yard. They're enticed by the sound of the water as it splashes melodiously on the rocks below.
Bringing the rocks to the spot was a snap. Ralph brought them over with a teramite that we'd rented for another yard project. We'd dreamed of having a pond one day and decided spur of the moment to do it then since we had the equipment on hand for the job. Moving the rocks by hand into their perfect places was definitely a more labor intensive endeaver.
